(My sincere salutations to Jayadeva Mahakavi. I have combined the lyrics from the Telugu movie 'Bhakta Jayadeva' and the more recent movie, 'Meghasandesam'.  Both were prescribed texts during degree college. The Telugu translation (given in parentheses) was penned by Sri Palagummi Padmaraju, a well known writer, screenplay writer, and poet. It is perhaps the most beautiful, elegant translation conveying precise meaning (intent) of the great poet. In passing I may also mention that both Palagummi Padmaraju and Devulapalli Krishnasastry were the alumni of P. R. Government College, Kakinada. What a heavenly feeling - I am overwhelmed with joy at the thought that I too had walked on the same sandy paths of the illustrious college campus often under the shade of an aromatic tree jasmine. Over several centuries the sweet poetry of Jayadeva disseminated through the coastal lands of Andhra and Tamil Nadu carrying with it the enduring kewra fragrance along with enchanting melodious lyricism - so I feel.)
